People: Nadia Josse

Name: Nadia Josse Rowean

Occupation / Business / Creative Outlet: Breathwork Facilitator – Founder of Well with Nadia

Location: New York City

First thing you did this morning? Meditated for 10 mins in bed and made coffee.

What does 'well-being' mean to you? Doing the things that make you feel good and being consistent with it.

Currently reading? I love to read a fiction and non-fiction at the same time so I can switch depending on the mood I’m in that night. Currently reading a Court of Thorn and Roses series by Sarah J Mass (currently on book 2) and The Source by Dr Tara Swart.

Currently browsing (.com)? Looking for cute summer dresses on Matteau for a trip to the Caymans.

A resource / piece of writing you'd like to share with us? The Body Keeps the Score. A wonderful book and the reason why I got into breathwork.

An album/mix that calms your nervous system? I love a good playlist. I usually go back to some of my playlist from past breathwork classes. Link to the last one, here.

An album/mix that hypes you up? The Blaze.

Three items in your wallet / bag? Lip balm: U Beauty. Hand Cream: CHANEL. A snack of some sorts like an apple or nuts.

Most commonly used apps on your phone? Amazon (sorry not very original), CHANI app to understand what the hell is going on with the planets haha. Oura Ring app – I love to track everything

Products found in your shower/by your bath?
Dry Brush (bought mine on Cap Beauty), Epsom Salts + Magnesium Flakes, Virtue Shampoo and Conditioner, Native Shower Gel (coconut).

Three things that can always be found in your kitchen cupboard? Maldon Sea Salts, Breyer’s Nutritional Yeast, Olives.

Favourite kitchen utensil? Appliance is my Thermomix – I’m a big fan. And utensil would be my mandolin.

Favourite travel destination?
Anywhere sunny with a beach. Top is Corsica, Amalfi and Saint Barths.

Favourite form of movement/exercise? I love DanceBody classes. I love to learn dances and turn off for an hour. Their sculpt classes are amazing too. You can also never go wrong with a good walk. We’re so lucky that NYC is a walkable city. I love to just put on headphone and walk for an hour.

Nighttime rituals & practices? I want to be in bed by 9pm. No phones or ipad in the bedroom is my number 1 rule. I usually read in bed for 10 to 20 mins. No crazy ritual but I take magnesium before bed religiously and will never skip my skin care routine.

One thing you'd like to incorporate into your day/week that you're currently yet to?
I used to practice yoga daily. I moved far from my old studio which closed during the pandemic. I have yet to find a class I love but would love to go back to it. My body is craving it.

A secret? I’m an open book haha.

Someone you look up to?
My teachers David Elliott and Erin Telford.

Something you're proud of?
Building a life from nothing in NYC.

I feel most creatively fulfilled when…
When I cut out the noise around me and listen to my intuition.

I'm currently working on… Video content and retreats!

This time last year, I wish I knew…That postpartum doesn’t last and that I’ll see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I'm grateful for… My family, friends and community.
