May is Mental Health Awareness Month

BY LAUREN TREND

May is Mental Health Awareness Month and I wanted to take a moment to address you all during this poignant time.

Self Practice, to me, has always been a space to know yourself better. A space to visit and return to during a time in your day, or life, where you feel like you need to prioritise some form of self-awareness or connection.

To take pause and consider our mental health takes courage, bravery and is an ongoing practice. As some of you will know, I struggled with my mental health for many years, and fostering this space continues to be a part of my own personal healing.

The last few years have seen a devastating impact on mental health at large, and to know that so many of you turned to Self Practice to find your feet means more to me than I could ever express.

It is my hope that all of you, no matter your journey, can take some time this month to consider just how far you have come. This space has the power of attracting people who hope to see the world through a lens of creative thinking, and I admire so many of you for that. It keeps me inspired, evolving, and I’m so grateful to be on this journey with you.

Please find some prompts to sit with during Mental Health Awareness Month. I hope you find them useful and I hope you continue to meet yourself with kindness and compassion.
