Occupation/Business/Creative Outlet: CEO @ Rachel Saunders Ceramics

Starsign: Aquarius.

Favourite Number: 777 — it’s my angel number. I see it almost everyday :)

First thing you did this morning? I got up and had a long, luxurious bath. I’m going through a breakup right now and am taking care of my tender self like never before. I did a face mask, I gua sha-ed, covered my body in apricot seed oil, jade-rolled, celery juiced, meditated, danced, and cried. I wish every morning could be so grand.

What does 'wellness' mean to you? I think ‘wellness’ is a word used to encapsulate an ideal and harmonious state of being. It’s also a 4.2 trillion dollar industry and is often very cleverly marketed to us in forms and products totally outside of ourselves. To me, true wellness comes from the ability to tune in and listen to what your body, mind, and spirit are communicating- whether its needing stillness, forgiveness, water, nature, connection, the sun, etc. I believe we have all the answers inside and can unlock them when we make time and space to. But face masks are great too, and I’m a sucker for well-branded adaptogens as much as the next. It’s really cool to see more and more people discovering what ‘wellness’ means to them, and I think when we can balance all the outer modalities with our own inner wisdom the magic really starts to happen.

Products found in your shower/by your bath? The entire F. Miller collection, some soap from France, a pumice stone from California, a dry brush, and some incense from Japan.

Three things that can always be found in your kitchen cupboard? Nutritional yeast, good olive oil, Moroccan mint tea.

Favourite kitchen utensil? A well-loved wooden spoon.

Favourite Travel destination? I would have to say Mexico. I have such a pure heart connection there and have had many profound experiences in it’s warm embrace. It just has so much to offer from the beautiful and kind people to it’s rich traditions of arts and craft... and thinking of the food just makes me emotional.

Currently reading? Letting Go by David Hawkins — I wish the whole world could read it. Also Junky by William Burroughs. Good to have balance on the bedside.

Currently browsing (.com)? Cheap flights to Paris

Favourite breakfast food? A lox sesame bagel with extra capers.

Three items in your make up bag? A little bottle of my perfume, DAMDAM’s Little Wonder Skin Balm, a scrunchie.

An album/mix that calms your nervous system? Anything by Jessica Pratt, Dorothy Ashby, or João Gilberto

An album/mix that hypes you up? Recently I’ve been rediscovering my deep love for MIA’s genius discography after seeing the incredible documentary MATANGI / MAYA / M.I.A., so she’s been hyping me up a lot, bringing out my fun 15 year old self :)

Most commonly used apps on your phone? Instagram :(, Swipes (for all my lists), Youper (a really cool app for tracking your mental health!), and Insight Timer for meditation.

Favourite form of movement/exercise? I love to walk. I love exploring on foot and being able to catch all the little things, it really gets me out of my head and back into the world. I also like to swim, do yoga and dance to nice music. Anything gentle and intuitive.

One thing you'd like to incorporate into your day/week that you're currently yet to? I hope one day to drink as much water as I’m supposed to. I’d also like to start going out more with friends. The past 2 years have been so insane and busy that I’ve just had my head down working so hard. Now I have help and things are finally running smoothly and I’m ready to party.

Nighttime rituals? Turning lights down low, a little facial massage, linen pyjamas or none, opening my windows to let the fresh nighttime air in, writing down my last ideas and thoughts for the day, and then I like to listen to a guided meditation or healing frequencies to wind down to.

I feel most creatively fulfilled when... When I’m lost in the initial stages of excitement of a new idea and I’m not thinking of the outcome, just the moment I’m in. Also when I’m collaborating with someone has a different energy and skillset than me and we can creatively feed off each other.

I'm currently working on... Relaxing. Enjoying the space I’ve worked so hard to finally find within my career, and just having fun doing the things I love like designing and dreaming.

This time last year, I wish I knew... That slowing down and taking my white knuckles off the wheel was my personal secret to success. And how many wonderful things come to me when I let go and say no.

I'm grateful for... Having so many tools new and old available to help me get through tough times and to be so supported by such an incredible community who really sees me.
